Looking for some help with my 6 bulb setup. i have a nice assortment of bulbs (giesemann and ATI).
I have been using Giesemann Aquablue+ (2) and Giesemann Actinic+ with my old 4 bulb setup.
I added 1 ATI Blue+ and 1 fiji to my new 6 bulb setup and used the 4 bulbs listed above..
is this combo good? also is the Aquablue+ the same as ATI's BLUE+? if not can someone compare what ATI bulbs match or equal to Giesemanns? that would be very helpful.
Giesemann Aquablue+ = ATI _________?
Giesemann Actinic+ = ATI _________?

so after doing about 20 mins of research it looks like
gies Actinic+ is equivalent to ATI Blue+
Gies Aquablue+ is equivalent to ATI Aqua Blue Special.

can someone confirm this for me? if this is correct, i am going to go with 2 Gies Actinic+, 2 ATI Blue+, 1 Gies AquaBlue+ and 1 fiji or 1 aquablue special. any preference over the last bulb (fiki or aquablue special)?

I want to buy an ATI 6 bulb fixture and attach Reefbrite actinic blues on each side. What is a good color combination of 6 T5 bulbs for a SPS tank that will go with the 2 Reefbrites? I'm looking for about 20K look.

You could do 4 blue plus and 2 coral plus or 4 blue plus 1 purple plus 1 coral plus. I would grab an extra coral plus to mess around with to find the combo you like. You may even go 3 blue and 3 coral with those reef b rites. I do an even mix on my 4 bulb and I like it but I dont have the reef brite strips.

CherryBlossom, I would worry that you wouldn't have enough par rating without at least one coral plus or a 14k bulb. Maybe try a conservative approach and just switch out one coral plus bulb with a purple plus to start out with. I suppose a lot depends on what corals you have? I have a crocea clam so I'd really worry about not having any daylight bulbs.

I have GSP, bubble coral, a goni, frogspawn, hammer and some leathers ... Xenia as well

So I removed a blue and put a coral plus back in

So blue plus, purple plus, coral plus, blue plus? I just took away a coral plus and put in the purple to try

I don't know if you have any more space but I added an LED strip light to my Aquatic life T5 fixture. Its a separate fixture with true blue LEDs and it fits over the bowed part of my bowfront tank.

Sounds like a really good combo with the sols. As for the b allasts I think you should be able to go to reef geek or somewhere and ge a ballast that they sell with their retro fit package.

Thank you Jeremy :) I hope It'll have enough par to the SB. Lights to SB should be about 35". I want to be able to keep some clams at the bottom without burning up any lps that may also be down low. I have the usual hammers, torch and frogspawns along with palys and zoas. My sps corals will be up higher in the tank. I'm almost cleared out of softies except for mushroom that will be needing new homes lol.
