Hi Everyone,
I currently have a ~1 inch baby camel cowfish in a 29 gallon reef tank. He's eating very well, and is on a diet of Rod's food and freeze-dried brine shrimp. It's such an inquisitive fish, and I feel kind of bad having it all by itself. Does anyone know of some fish that could get along? Adult size isn't an issue as I have a much larger tank to move them to.

Thanks!

Leave him by himself for some time. First, cowfish are very susceptible to parasites, so new fish can introduce pathogens. Secondly, cowfish are outcompeted pretty easily.

Personally I would just move the cowfish to the bigger tank. The cowfish is much more likely to become stressed in the 29 gallon as it grows a bit bigger and that can be a recipe for disaster. Keep the cowfish by itsef until it gets another inch or two and then stock the 29 gallon as normal.
