I have this growing in/out of my sand in three locations. This picture is the one that is on the glass so we can see what is happening underneath the little mound of 'sand' that I see in the other two places. Is it friend or foe?

I see some spaghetti/hair worm strands (I suspect the former) in the first picture. I would guess he's a good guy.
