Our probe holders are well sealed but a defect could be possible. Certainly not saying it happened here but be sure not to drop the holder or let the magnets smack together as it could cause a fracture of the acrylic or the glue. Contact support for an exchange. In the many thousands of these sold we have only seen this happen a couple of times.
My neptune 2 nd neptune probe holder magnetic hold is much weaker than my first. It does not stay put. For example, the dosing lines attached, if i ever so gently tug, it pulls and spins. This defeats the purpose if it cannot actually hold a dosing tube still. I have a red sea 650 peninsula with the standard thickness red sea sump. Very odd, because my first holder with ph and temp probes is sturdy and does not move unless stronger force is appled.
