Water distiller or RODI unit?

I've read other threads that distilled water is the same as rodi, maybe even more purer? So I'm thinking I could just get a water distiller? I assume the water distillers just needs cleaning, so I can save on filters.

Yeah but it takes about 6 hours to make 1 gallon of water. The energy cost will be higher per gallon than RODI filters.
