Most Petcos and Petsmarts have wellness rooms. It's where they send sick pets and attempt to have them treated. Some of them are really great about helping and treating animals. Others do the bare minimum. It is also probably where the dreaded freezer resides too. (Unless there is an animal hospital in the building, in which case it goes in their freezer after passing.)
