What are the major differences, excluding the obvious skim volume pulled out in a certain amount of time? And what are some pros/cons of each?

Wet skimming is supposed to remove more of the contaminants from the water. This is great if you need really clean water or have a heavy load in your system. Dry skimming removes less, and for certain corals (mainly softies) the extra "scunge" in the tank can be ok, or even beneficial.
