Soooo I let this thing sit for a little over 4 years and what I came back to isn’t pretty. Best method to clean this thing?

Wasteful as it sounds, I think you're actually supposed to toss the sediment filter...I've never heard of cleaning sediment filters before

I replace the filters themselves, the canister itself is what needs a good cleaning.
Ah, I was confused about that, sorry! In that case, I'm with lizbeli on doing a citric acid bath. You could also do a vinegar bath as well, but it's probably a lime deposit or something.
