We all have our dream corals and we all have our favorite corals, but there is always that one coral we cant keep alive no matter what. There are of course corals that will challenge the novice and will challenge the most experienced hobbyist. Many times it is due to poor quality coral, Immature tanks, inexperience and youve done all the right things and still No luck.

What is the one coral (ok- even two corals) you find most challenging and cannot keep it thriving no matter what you do ?

Once upon a time it was any SPS for me and recently as I have so many fish, I cant tell if eaten or dying off but has been papaya clove polyps. I still struggle also with a very easy SPS- Bonsai tree.

I have issues with goniopora. I have an alveopora and a bernardopora both doing well but have now lost 2 3/4 of the 4 goniopora I've bought. I should just stop buying them. They seem to do really well for a time but it seems as soon as something goes wrong they retract and then suddenly bail on me.
Here's hoping my only healthy one stays that way. IMG_3411.jpeg

Almost all of questions being asked on a daily basis are redundant. Nobody knows how to use the search feature! :grinning-face-with-big-eyes:

Even the admins/mods making up the daily questions are starting to repeat themselves. It helps keep this place alive with what appears to be new daily topics.

Gonipora is one that can challenge the most experienced hobbyist. I too have killed many but the two I now have since December have been doing fantastic. What did I do differently?
Daily water changes, added Aminos 3 days a week and manganese for protein as well as indirect medium random flow.

My tank is 8 months old I have over 20 gonis all doing well . I have problems with mushrooms I don’t know why , most of them died . Only recently I got luck with yuma mushrooms . I heard mushrooms are easy to keep . I don’t know why my tank is good with acros . Torches , gonis ,meat corals . Just not mushrooms
