I have a gem, black, yellow, and purple and I think my favorite is the black tang. The gem is pretty but I think the black is more cool. I had a sohal and it got to aggressive, so I had to take it out.

Here’s a picture of my tangs, not a great picture, hard trying to get all in the pic, can you spot all four?

They get big really quick. Mine was about 8 inches whe he died in my tank crash. Hurricane. Somebody turn my generator off when we were away after the hurricane.
Sorry to hear about the lost. Yes, they grow fast, I’m already planning on upgrading my 125 to maybe a 300 gallon...

I don't have a large enough tank to keep one, but I've always been a fan of the Naso tang.

The temporarily beautiful Acanthurus tristis, juvi's are stunning in sunlight. Powder blues are hard to beat though.

Had a Kole tang that didnt go so well.. the only tang I will probably ever keep now is the Wu Tang.
Unless you cramp them, and/or not given them enough food, tangs are one of the easiest fish to keep IMO. Beautiful and of great utility in a reef.

I am a Tangs, Angels and Wrasses kinda person (and clownish). IMO, the Powder Blue Tang is the most beautiful of the tangs that can be comfortably keep in medium to large tanks. They are not the most expensive or the rarest, but their color and grace is arguable the most beautiful of the tangs.

Please give us your opinion of your MOST BEAUTIFUL (not most favorite, most expensive or rarest). A beautiful picture or two would really help you drive-in your points.

Personally purple tang, gem tang (I like the spots) but the best one I’ve sever seen is this white sleek tang that looked like a combination of a unicorn tang, Naso tang, vampire tang and orange shoulder tang I’ll try to get a photo of it next time I’m at my LFS

Based strictly on looks, I lean towards the powder blue as well. Gorgeous coloration and more unique than that dang "Dory" fish that newbies keep on about.
