Trochus snails do a great job with algae control and also breed in my frag system. I vote for a wrasse for function and beauty.

This is crazy I just purchased two black mollies for my frag tank. I had an Atlantic tang that got to big for my 20gallon long frank tank.
How well did the mollys do? I just finished cycling my 20L frag tank and looking for 2 good utilitarian fish!

Someone PLEASE tell me what are 2 good fish for a small 20 l frag tank! I keep hearing wrasse but shouldnt they be in a larger tank and I know for sure tangs are! I definitely need a good algae fish because it just finished cycling and I am going to be setting lights up soon because have to many frags! Generally i wait a few months to set lights up and thats always worked great and never had an ugly stage! At least not in the beginning!

wrasses, tangs mainly for pest control. and more than one to add to the nutrient level that most frag tangs are low on.

Its most humane to do it over a week long period imo
I've read multiple places they do best when you literally drop them directly into the tank. Can't confidently cite sources, but always good to double check ourselves.

Also have never kept mollies and don't plan on it, I think they u.g.l.y. lol

I use mollies for algae control. We buy sw mollies from the vendor. They're already acclimated to sw.
What wrasse do most people use?
Tried 6 line but it chases the mollies.

What vendor sells sw mollies. Do I really need fish for a 20 L? Wouldnt snails and hermits do the job? My tank will only house zoas and shrooms. I only have one fish in my 36 gallon for years because he is a mean damsel! I htought of putting him in there but he is useless and also wont be happy. Seems most people dont care about fish being happy LOL. What fish is going to be happy with no caves to swim through an no hidding spots and no sand? My damsel sleeps in the sand and burys him self and makes tunnel. Pissses me off when I have frags acclimating! lol
