Wood DIY hood – ground wire placement help

Planning on getting T5 retro fit below to supplement my radion. I currently have a DIY wood hood on my 65G tank with 4 65w PC lights that i will be replacing. I didnt need to ground the PCs because of the ballast set up (marine land retrofit).

How should I wire the ground wire? Can I wire it into the wooden hood that sits on top of the tank?

No, thats not going to help. The ground on this retro fit will be to jump the reflectors together, then to the ballast ground.
