Scientist I am not but cyno appears for me when nutrients are extremely low and the numbers don't correlate.
My little tank has had cyno, nothing terrible but there for weeks.
I recently turned everything off, reef octo, no sump, nothing.
Running only a HOB filter.
No water changes.
Cyno is leaving and my numbers are looking higher and a little more even.
Have no idea if that makes sense but there is such a thing as too clean.
A little diversity is good too.
Maybe I'll just take the cup off my skimmer and let it overflow! That way I still get the oxygen boost without the cleaning side of it for a few days till I see what happens!

I'm sorry everyone, it was a long day.
I have to catch up. I know Luis was on a mission to save his beautiful favia. Brother whatever is wrong is not your fault. Amanda sorry for what you had to go through recently. That hasnt ecaped me. I hope you find a new beginning while building your new pico tank. Joel is awesome. Kevin has birdsnest frags, and can really cook. Mike is really a Chilean gun smuggler disguised as a reefer, and I hope Walker's acans are doing great. Good day remi and John Doe. Tim I hope you and your little one are resting easy tonight. Jill is my tank buddy. I'm going to win the lottery and buy her a 500 gallon.

The Galaxaura and blue hypnea are a bit challenging to get started. But recall they they are small to start out with, and none of these are invasive, so when/if one grows out you can trim it down or move it to the 125. I don't think 6 is overdoing it. Here are my 6 new ones from Thursday:

Actually I don't know where #6 is (ignore the enormous dragons breath).
Halimeda
Gracilaria (birdsnest)
String of pearl
Galaxaura (front left)
Tufted somethingornother (green back left)
Thank you! Is there something I should dose with to insure they grow well? I add an all in one liquid fertilizer to my planted freshwater tanks but didn't know if there was similar for saltwater.
