DAILY QUESTION: What challenges have you faced with previous reef lighting systems?

I have own many light systems for my tanks. Metal Halides - heat & energy costs vs great growth... T5's - tube
degradation vs amazing uniformity in colonization and LED's - PAR all over the place, laser beams (diffusion lenses not a solution) vs vivid colors & energy costs. easy answer: what works best based on outcome.

Spectrum is the most important factor for me, I chose both my lights strictly based on the budget I had at the time.
