Thanks, but i don't need more corals.) When i was starting i wanted more of macroalgae tank, but they didn't grow well. Now like 80% of biomass in the tank are corals) Waiting for somebody to send me a link to lamp that grows macroalgae like weeds...
+ This lamp is way less bright then the one i have, and its is blue, while i like white light. Even if i will keep SPS someday, which i doubt, they will be under white lights. Because i like to create an illusion of the real ocean. But maybe in the future it would be nice to have a lamp that will be blue for an hour or so in the evening to see zoas and briareum fluoress.

why does that scarily look like a brissle worm

It was in fact a brittle star(it's leg). They have very distinct coloration, that i call "winter sock". But i have a lot of bristle worms, some of which i might start calling bristle serpents, because these anacondas look too big in 14 gallon tank... Still love them as a free cleanup crew

I think my 50 w spotlight is pretty good and the same model grew red, green and even some brown macroalgae like weeds. Except browns died after a few weeks, but they were cold water algae that lives in turbulent waters, and i had quite a warm tank with minimum flow or dosing, so I'm not surprised . I just think the problem i had with algae in this tank was lack of microelements. Because after i swapped salts corals and algae are always opened, but i also have a lot od cyano and dinos(i had a lot of nitrate because i thought lack of it was the culprit). I'm not really worried, i just need for the system to stabilise.

PS: i have my tank near window so if i will want to increase light intensity i will just open curtains and let the tank bask in the sun.

great i remember back in the day when i was only 8-10 yrs old and used sunlight to grow macroalgae as we could,nt afford a reef light. if we did we would be eating bread for the rest of the month( just kidding but u get the idea)

Unfortunately, i do not know why, but my red macroalgae seems to die off if exposed to sunlight. At first it hits like a growth spurt, and then dies, even with dosing... Maybe it overheats, because the tank gets direct sunlight for a few hours if not shielded from it with something, maybe it overphotosynthesises and can't keep up it's nutrient demand with the amount of light it's getting, but either way, reds go first and then go the greens. That is a shame, because i liked when i was getting sunlight in the tank at the evening, it looked like wild black sea. Especially when fishies were sitting on algae and basking under the sun rays.

At least my goby now has a lot of things to sit/sleep on. When sitting on a pillow of algae he reminds me of his drabber but bigger and very belligerent cousins back at black sea.

Tank update for now. Took the only video where shrimp can be seen fully and active. For now I'm content with that, the only problem is dinos which can be caused by lack of nitrates or by the fact that my roommate used scented candles in the room for a month.

Also i forgot to say, i now have a lot of flow in the tank. I used to have only tidal 55, usually fully stacked with stuff and working presumably on half the power(1000 l/250 g per hour is stated on the box, half that because of sponges and filter floss and it's not that much for 50 l/14g), + cheap sunsun surface skimmer that was 300l/80g per hour. It was ok, but the tank had a lot of dead zones with poop accumulation. Now that i decided to try again sunsun powerhead 2000l/500g per hour, and it works great. The last time i removed it, because i thought that it might stress the fish, + it swooped a bit of sand from one corner of the tank (so there is no sand and just glass) and it was not looking "natural" for me. Now i don't care, so i will leave it in the tank, because algae and corals, seem to love high flow, or at least do not mind it, like xenia

Quick update from this week
1.Battling dino with phosphate dosing and surface skimmer with filter floss in it that i change every morning before lights turn on. I am starting to win. Dinos were because i changed salt and started making large 40% waterchanges and fed not too much. Instability feeds them. Also my roommate was using scented candles, this did not help the situation.
2. Changed flow, removed the 500g/h powerhead. Now have only surface skimmer, tidal and old chinese 500 l/h / 125 g/h pump(blows over the anthelia, anthelia loves it). The powerhead may have stirred the sand too much which could've fed the dinos even more.
3. Removed all mechanical filtration from hang on the back and turned it into a sump. Will get chaeto for it tomorrow.
4. Bought a pom pom crab today to never see him again(will make update whenever he will be visible.
5. Got a lot of chaeto back today, will leave it and just dose more nutrients.

The tank a few days ago. Not the worst It has been but not the best it was.

My cheap atrocious refugium. Not for nutrients, but as a safe heaven for pods/potential place to put animals i need to remove(it is much better then using these breeder cages). Overall love how this turned out, chaeto loves it in there. Maybe will put carbon in there for some time, I'm not sure.

Tank yesterday. Better, less dinos, most corals feel better. The photo is a bit bad because anemones, xenja and green zoanthids look much better. Anthelia is ok, but is jot as it was. Yellow polyps do not care.

The funny thing is, I've only had 3 of these zoas as a gift and also got like 3-4 other colours, 2 of which had big colonies. All other zoas died due to lack of nutrients, and now i have 15+ of these green zoas, which were fully opened before dino outbreak, now they almost fully opened and the only

Also my gobiodon finally eats mysis. Who would've thought that ocean nutrition is tastier then cheaper local mysis... Like before that he didn't even react to it, now i put some in the tank for my wheelers goby and yellow clown goby just IHALED it.
On the other hand blenny is a literal garbage disposal, it is hard to find anything he will not try to engulf.

I don't have access to commercially available copepods, but it is not the problem, because i have some unknown copepods and munnids in the tank, and their population exploded in the last week. They do not seem to eradicate the stuff, but the whole glass is teeming with them. My blenny is always fat because i did not clean the glass for 2 weeks and in addition to pods he has algae. All in one diet and the cost is dino&cyano
