My 75 gal tank is almost ready to be filled up to cycle so I tossed together a list I think should be compatible and a good mix of color.

- (2) Clownfish
- (1) Firefish Goby
- (1) Yellow Clown Goby
- (1) Green Clown Goby
- (1) Orange Stripe Prawn Gobie + Pistol Shrimp
- (1) Royal Gramma
- (1) Canary Blenny
- (1) Orchid Dottyback
- (1) Bristletooth Tang - deciding between the Tomini, Whitetail, or Squaretail Bristletooth.
- (1) Dwarf Flame Angel

Any tips on compatibility, alternates, who should be introduced first/last, and who needs a more established tank to thrive is appreciated!

Looks good.

The only thing is that while orchid dottybacks are pretty calm, they’re still dottybacks and can become very territorial. Im sure it will be fine but I would go for a black cap basslet instead.

Other than that, none of the fish on your list are super aggressive or anything, so you can add anything you want at any time.

That yellow watchman and orange stripe goby may have territory issues. The clowns once established are gonna be protective of thier spot.

Some of those fish are way too peaceful, like the firefish, i'd skip that. Mine was fine until, Karen and Chad, they killed it and fed it to their anemone God. The tang should be last, peaceful guys first. Add all of these fish within a couple/few weeks, unless you're gonna supplement the bacteria for a few days.
Also, most of those fish are gonna be territorial, so hopefully there is a lot of rockwork and caves.
Ime, seems like most tanks are semi aggressive at one point or another. Especially within the first few weeks of new additions.

I have a decent amount of rock work and caves so I think there should be plenty of hiding spots. (I’ll post photos in the next few days of the aquascape)

I think you are right about getting rid of the Firefish. The first saltwater tank I had years ago had 2 clowns and a firefish and it pretty much exclusively stayed hidden in the rock work.

I was thinking about swapping the Firefish for a six line wrasse. Any issues with compatibility with this list? Do sixline wrasse need partners or is a solitary wrasse preferred?

I also did not have a watchman goby and orange stripe goby on that list, just the orange striped goby.

However, I was thinking of including a lawnmower blenny but was not sure how the orange striped goby and lawnmower blenny would interact?

No issue with swapping the wrasse with the fire fish, but only get one. Two is a bad idea.

You won’t have any problems with the orange goby and lawnmower blenny.

I am thinking I might actually pass on the lawnmower blenny and opt for a Midas Blenny instead.

The other fish I would love to have after seeing a few at my LFS is the blue spotted Jawfish.

Unsure on their compatibility with the orange striped goby or others on the tank?

My other question/concern is stocking overload.

I have a 75 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump and a bubble magnus Curve 5 Elite protein skimmer so I think I will be fine as long as I introduce the full load over time.

Do you think I will have any issues with the current stocking list below? I also plan to introduce this list in roughy this order to the tank.

(2) DaVinci Ocellaris Clownfish - Grade A (3+3‎ = 6”)

(1) Citron Clown Goby (2”)

(1) Royal Gramma (3”)

(1) Midas Blenny (6”)

(1) Sixline Wrasse (3”)

(1) Blue Spotted Jawfish (4”)

(1) Orange Stripe Prawn Goby - Randalli - w/Randalli Pistol Shrimp (5”)

(1) Flame Angel (4”)

(1) Flame Fin Tomini Bristletooth Tang (6”)

Total: 10 fish (39” at full maturity)

That list looks good, but i would pass on the blue spotted jawfish. They need a cold water environment to thrive. If you want a jawfish go for the yellow head jawfish, the same fish in my pfp.

Oof, I also just noticed the price tag on the blue spotted Jawfish as well… the Yellowhead is looking like more of the play here.

I was also planning on eventually using a portion of my sump as a refugium and introducing copapods and chaeto.

Once the tank is fully established and I get the refugium up and running, do you see any issue with attempting to keep a green mandarin? Or do you think some of my other fish would out-compete the green mandarin?

That is something I truthfully did not really think about as far as bio-load!

I am only planning on keeping some soft coral at this point. Likely some zoas, star polyps, possibly some leathers and mushrooms, and maybe an anemone for the clowns.

Is there a rough calculation I can follow to take into account that additional bio-load?

I don't see a problem with one.
