I had mine maxed out until yesterday. I found that at max power I was getting an outbreak of this white / clear / colorless hair algae. So, I lowered mine way down in intensity. Great light. I hope I can get rid of this disgusting white hair algae outbreak. It's all over my rocks.

Found a link to the setup. I created an excel file to scale this up and down throughout the day.

Total freedom can lead to unintended consequences! I speak from experience-- when you switch from HM or T5s and go to higher end LED GO SLOW!! And when it comes to buying wild caught or cultivated soft corals-- go to lowest possible setting. LEDs are remarkably strong and remarkably decieving! I bleached out 20 rose anemone and in another tank, scores of zoos. The fixtures were different-- jessie panel and on the other, ecotech. start with 25% no higher and a 50/50 blend of color. A word to the wise is sufficient

I think the problem with adopting settings from some other user is that there are way to many other variables that make that particular user successful that may not work for you. When I just recently switched to the AI Hydra 52 HD and I researched the "best setting" I ended up choosing to go with science and facts. Someone else did the work already, I am just riding their coat tails.

I'm using SPS AB+ as described on page 7 of the pdf ( page 5 of the actual doc ). My fixtures are not 24 inches above the water like the ones in the experiment, so I have adjusted my intensity equally across all channels, keeping the exact ratio as the original SPS AB+. If I reduce one channel by 10%, I reduce all channels by 10%.

I bought a cheap $10 Lux meter so I could dial in the intensity I wanted without worrying about what par and pur would be.

so... when changing my lights to a new schedule, should this be done slowly? Or just at night?
