Unsure of any action to take for this fish, or just expected with this species. I added 7 Lyretail anthias to a 20g QT, 6 female and one male. I lost the male first, and then a larger female within a week. I assumed the male had something internal, and the female was due to fighting for order. I had seen two of the females fighting/chasing so assumed that was the cause of the second death. It's been a few weeks and now another anthia is not looking normal, noticed the breathing yesterday.
I had noticed some stringy poop, but assumed that could be diet related. Also, even if internal, sounds like treatment is often difficult using medicated foods based on presumed weight.
Fish are fed twice daily, mainly PE mysis.
Anthia Breathing Hard
The tank had originally been battling high ammonia so I was doing frequent water changes. As of 12/31, ammonia by Hanna was down to 0.06. This morning, seachem still showed yellow. I lowered sg in two fresh water additions yesterday, but don't think that would cause this.
date: sg/ copper/ammonia
12/30: 1.026 / - / -
12/31: 1.025/ 2.38 / 0.06
1/1: 1.027
1/2: 1.025 / 2.17 / -
Today is day 30 for copper, and tomorrow would be doing a large WC to start treatment with prazi.
Appreciate any insights/guidance.
