Anybody get their signature removed before? Why?

in order for me to be able to post a link to my site(which I have never had any orders on)
I need a partner membership, which is ***** expensive

imagine this:
you have been a user for 6 years, had that username for 6 years, randomly out of nowhere, u get banned cause of an offensive username that goes against the ToS, how would you feel?

im not mad cause its the rules or whatever
im mad cause I have had that signature for so long, and out of nowhere it got taken down, please understand that

I know it sucks, but sometimes the staff don’t realize after a while.

Think of a scenario where someone did something illegal in real life and finally got caught after years later.

I’m not saying you did something illegal; it’s a simple link in a forum signature, but the concept is the same: a rule was broken, but the penalty wasn’t enforced until after a while.

Would you tell the person in the illegal scenario that they should be excused since they’ve been doing it for a while?

To reiterate, I’m not saying you did anything illegal. My scenario was an exaggerated example of your situation.

Are you upset that you got caught? Are you upset that you feel singled out? Or are you upset that others are still getting to do it while you no longer can?

I can tell you're taking it personally. I guess you can take up the cross and start reporting all those that are in violation. Will that make you feel better?

You also have to understand that there are a lot of sponsors that are spending $$$ in order to advertise. Why should you get to do it for free? If they were to allow that, then sponsors would stop paying to be able to advertise.

It seems like you flew under the radar, someone either reported you or a moderator noticed your link. Either way, it was corrected. Take solace in the fact that you got away with it for so long without it costing you a penny.

Stewy, I understand your frustration. However, you broke a rule, unknowingly, and a moderator just happened to notice. Just because you've gotten away with it for so long, does not mean that you should continue to get away with it. I know it's hard, and you really do want to expand your small buisness. That's understandable. Have you tried other social media advertisements? Social media can be a great tool for small businesses, and best of all, most large social media platforms allow you to promote your buisness. Just make sure its okay for that sepific platform, as they all have different rules.

Don't be mad. Take this as a learning opportunity. Like mentioned before, vendors pay big money to be able to advertise on this website. It would be unfair for them if you were able to do it for free.

It won’t make me feel better if somebody reports others, i don’t want to make people feel bad that they lost something

First line is a line from the The Who's song "Want Get Fooled Again". The second line is from Criminal Minds.

I don't remember what the line was that got deleted. If I remember correctly, like you, it had been the same for a long time. I actually try and change my signature every month or so, just depends on my mood and what I'm thinking about at the time.
