Sorry all I have is chaeto and it's full of all kinds of critters. Not sure about anything but chaeto but it is very forgiving and can be shipped in a small flat rate box for cheap.

EDIT : I would pack the chaeto in quart zip lock bags with a little water, smush the air out and into the box. I shipped it accross the country and it always survived. If other macro is as hardy maybe someone will send you thier clippings for the cost of a small flat rate box :thinking-face:

ship if available?
From West coast to Jersey might not do so well! Besides, I've got baby aiptasia growing between the branches that I haven't tackled yet. Live-plants.com is one of my Go-Tos.

Hey stewy14, I have some real nice macroalgae that you can have just for the cost of shipping. Every month or so I just throw it away which makes me sad. Anyway I have (red grape caulerpa) botrycladia, (red titan) gracilaria hayi, codium, and ulva. Can you use any of those? I am in Pittsburgh, PA So not real far from you either.

Isn't red titan a Titanophora species, and pom pom Gracilaria G. hayi?

I think so. I put their slang name in parenthesis with the scientific name after.

Sorry, confused. Do you have Titanophora spp. or Gracilaria hayi? The former is really really hard to find!
What I have looks like what Gulf Coast ecosystem calls gracilaria hayi but the person I bought it from called it red titan. It definitely never has orange tips.

Can I get a close-up? G. hayi doesn't get orange tips (to my knowledge). This is fully gorwn in G. hayi under Noopsyche K7 Mini, with about 27% whites going.

Just watched your Feb video. Such a lovely tank! I wasn't able to tell everything, but I did see what looked like flat branch Gracilaria further down near your green/brown palys and scattered about. Couldn't see what's at the very top of the rocks. I'd wager the person you bought the red titan from mis-ID'd it.
I'll be on the lookout for Titan once I get the new tank running! Right now I just got string of pearls, orange galaxy (hanging on by a thread), Euchema spinnosum (not well), bird nest Gracilaria (ok), laurencia (not well), Portiera (almost gone), branching coraline (dead) and Galaxaura (up and down). Shouldn't have rushed it!

I bet you are right about the person I bought it from mis-IDing it.
I always wanted string of pearls but have never tried it. I did try portiera and branching coraline once but neither took for me. Some times I will try a macro 2Xs but if I don't have success the 2nd time then I figure that macro isn't for me. I am the same with coral. Anyway, don't give up on macros if some don't thrive for you, just try different ones.

Sorry, just catching up. Yes, looks like G. hayi to me! What is the red/teal thing in front of it?

P.s., stunning plating purple sponge!
Oh and thanks for checking out my Feb. video. The red/teal thing was an acan and it was just beginning to take off and spread (after probably 2 years of doing nothing) and then suddenly it just died! That was a bummer but oh well.

Yes that sponge is beautiful and bulletproof but it is invasive if not kept in check. Maybe I already told you that (I forget who I tell what to) but I want everyone to know that it can take over, ha ha! Too much of a good thing is not good!
