I think the new OR4's have app control built in based on what the product page advertised.
Yup - I have the app and can dim and on/off. However, I want to sync with the 2xOR3 in the back, where they are not. Will see - hoping to get these installed this weekend.

Yeah those power supplies look like the DIM controllers which can be controlled in the app
Yup — I’ve been following your build thread as well, your lighting setup is insane! You’re ahead of me in terms of SPS so I’m jealous. :)

Thank you

Yeah I have had some good luck with the new tank so far (knock on wood aka my head). I actually have a battlebox coming this week from Adam at Battlecorals so I'm super psyched to add some more Acros. I really like Orpheks, they are some really beefy lights with good color and they definitely grow SPS as my frag tank that has an older Atlantic is being taken over by Montipora and Acro colonies.

One thing with the new tank I did was start blasting it with alot of light right off the bat, I also tested daily and adjusted to keep nutrients in check and started maintaining Alk after about 2 weeks. I think this really helped me push through any ugly staged really quick even though I started with dry rock seeded with some live rock. I also started the Reef Moonshine method after a month and I am impressed that not only are the Acros's encrusting and growing but they are coloring up nicely as well. Your tanks will get there, as the saying goes it isn't a race it is a journey.

For my next upgrade on the frag tank, I might swap out the 2 Radion G4 Pros for Orphek Icons. Currently, I don't think it's a light problem though. I need to get nutrients in check; perhaps do Moonshire, I don't know yet. For starters, need to get things to stabilize first. If this works, I'll rinse & repeat on the 450g; however, it's more about the fish than corals. I have plenty of corals already! lol

Why don’t you just do water changes to stabilize lol.

Nutrients on the big tank have been interesting. On my frag system I only have a single damsel that lives in the sump so I have very little food being added to the tank. I also have a huge Mangrove so I actually dose quite alot of NO3 and PO4 to keep nutrients detectable. I run about 5-10 ppm NO3 and .01-.06 PO4 on that system. On the new tank I have stocked it with a decent amount of fish (About 25 right now with 6 larger tangs) I feed them a ton as I wanted to try a heavy in heavy out approach. My nutrients sit around 15-20 ppm NO3 and .14-.18 PO4. I have a little bit of hair algae but nothing extreme. My algae scrubber is still getting past the slime stage and hasn't started growing good hair/turf algae but I feel once it gets dialed in and the acros really start growing I'll be in good shape. I do carefully dose Phosphate-E if I see PO4 creep above .2 which it has done a couple times. I don't want to carbon dose as I know the tank will eventually need all the PO4 I'm putting in by feeding the fish 4-5 times a day. I will say with this big tank the swings take a while which is nice. The 120g frag system isn't too bad but the 300g really doesn't change much day to day.

Ok — I will prove you guys wrong. I’ve performed a 50% WC and yet the param is the same. I’ve ordered an ICP test since I couldn’t find my packet.

So I’m struggling in both tanks
450g: zero growth, NO3 50, PO4 0.8 I feed heavy with large tangs and angels (23 fish total). I can’t grow SPS yet. The tank is only 6mos old though

90g Frag: zero growth, NO3 232+, PO4 0.2 moderate feeding with 2 Haddonis, 8 Sunburst nems, tangs and clowns (12 fish total). Tank is 18mos old (well, the rocks are). Even zoas don’t grow! I’m trying to solve this one. Don’t k know what’s causing the nitrate spike. It’s been 5 weeks of vodka dosing but NO3 not going down. Waiting for ICP but they don’t even test nitrate - lol

Found my Fauna Marine Total ICP — will send out tomorrow.

Manually re-tested with new NO3 reagent
NO3: 149
PO4: 0.05 - PhosphateRx works great!

Ozone setup is almost complete - I need another PM1 module for ORP; however, everything is hooked up and ready to go.

Once I’m done with the PraziPro treatment next weekend, I’ll turn on UV and Ozone.

This really doesn’t make sense to me in regard to your nitrates.
What? It rises from feeding? I’m going to keep on dosing vodka until this kicks in - been 5 weeks. Otherwise, it will come back up. Yes, yes - I know that doing a WC will reduce it. I can also do biodenitrator (got one sitting in storage) but I want vodka to work for ease of automation in the future.

Waiting for ICP - was sent in a couple of days ago.
