Thank you for the support. I appreciate it.
MB7 will work or you can start feeding tank extra few days prior to delivery.
Beneficial bacteria lives in same ratio as ammonia being produced. So by feeding extra a few days prior you are increasing ammonia production, This is trigger the bacteria to grow and in 15-18 hrs, colony will double in size.
After the fish are introduced it will adjust accordingly.
Excellent point, I didn't think of this! Sounds like a great plan and will save me $20.

When setting up this tank, I did add 2 bottles of MB7 (not at once) to the tank, so at least it does have all or some of those strains of bacteria already in the tank...

as long as ammonia rose and went down to 0 and you are seeing nitrates tank is cycled.

Updated photo. Horrible blue photo I know. I don't have any phone filters. Anyway, really just a post to update what I have done lately this early winter. I've just re-installed my DOS onto my new controller board. Had to rearrange the layout a bit but it works. Definitely better than reaching all the way into the dark cabinet to try and find buttons. I also needed an updated photo for my Apex Fusion haha. Really trying to dial in the tank again. I got busy over the summer and it was neglected a bit. I've removed some corals I got tired of, removed trash palys, and have added some cool colorful frags to refresh the tank a bit. Waiting on a cool Jester Torch and a few sticks such as a RR Starfire and Bill Murray acro. Have added some nice zoas lately like scrambled eggs, green bay packers (?), butt monkeys, eagle eyes, bam bams etc. Sold a few nems that were invading some sticks and also removed some weedier aggressive corals such as Hollywood stunner and GSP. The stunner killed most of a nearby acro.

Also added a cool rainbow acro that I am nursing back to health. Spot feeding it. Added a cool yellow splatter hammer from a newfound reefer nearby. He sells frags, fish and inverts from his home tanks. We're really all trying to get some new corals in the valley, lots of stagnant corals over too many years locally. Oh ya forgot I added a small frag from another reefer; it's a Cali Tort. Will update some photos whenever I get a filter or learn how to take a proper tank photo.

Up next is clean and calibrate probes and clean skimmer.

Considered getting a reefmat but also worried like some say that our 'tanks are getting too clean'. So just running the Reef Diapers still, they work great and are pretty easy and inexpensive for the most part.
