Sadly there are corals that people hate that are absolutely beautiful!

The hate varies from reefer to reefer and there are many reasons for why some beautiful coral is hated. So let's talk about it!

What coral do you think is BEAUTIFUL but you hate it and why?

My favorite has to be pulsing xenia!

A lot of people generally hate less colorful leather corals, but in my opinion they really add a beautiful natural shape, color, and soft movement to tanks
I like having a mix of these bright colorful colors and ones that aren't as bright

Blue ridge coral . Common in the hobby , beautiful but since it is not a showstopper colorwise and grows huge not too popular.

(How about a thread on how to use the search feature? )

I never had them but wanted blue clove polyps when I saw a tank with a few. Later I saw the tank overrun and I thanked the Lord I didn't put them in my tank.

Currently I have a Kenya Tree leather someone asked me to keep a frag of. That has been spreading at a crazy rate lately? Probably should quit posting and get to it.

And I bought an Organpipe coral. It turned out to be very invasive and I need to get rid of the few pieces I still have but it is so hard to trash without remorse. I think I have given away buckets so my Karmameter is probably ok?

Green star polyps. They have eye popping color and great movement, but they spread too quickly and can take over.
IMO if GSP was hard to grow it’d be one of the most sought after corals in the hobby.

Instead it’s too good at growing to the extent many view it as a pest.
