I dealt with the same exact situation 2 months ago, old tunze which lasted almost 10 years finally died, upgraded to osmolator 3, no complaints and I trust the brand.

Just curious, what does the app add to ATO functionality?I have always used Tunze but recently switched to a Red Sea. Has been flawless for 6 months and I love the app.
I didn't know they did repairs. I'll have to look into this. I already ordered the avast parrot but it's always nice to have a backup on the shelf.Just send in the unit to have the optical sensor replaced. I sent in my old 3155 over a year ago and it's still going strong. The repair is rather cheap and doesn't take much time. Reach out to @rvitko for the details, there's a thread in the Tunze sponsor section. I have two 3155's going now and one is over 10 years old and with the new optical sensor, it should still keep going for many years. But if I was buying new, it would be the new osmolator 3 or a gravity fed system, which I'm still using on my main display.
I forget how much it is total, buy I don't think I paid more than $40 for the repair. But don't quote me on the price, it's been a while.I didn't know they did repairs. I'll have to look into this. I already ordered the avast parrot but it's always nice to have a backup on the shelf.
Ive been using a tunze nano 3152 on my old 60 gallon and now on a biocube, its honestly been flawless. I think its 8 or 10 years old now. It runs for 2 minutes, if it doesn't hit the level of water needed in 2 minutes it shuts off and bumps the pump to let you know as it thinks the ATO tank is empty. That timer removes the need of a extra safety to be honest. Your ATO tank shouldn't be too big that your sump cant take a full dump of it anyways. Only issue I've had was not maintaining it and the float getting gummed up with growth so it was stuck in the "Full" mode and the sump was low on water. If this dies Ill buy another!Well it looks like my tunze 3155 ATO unit has finally come to the end of its time after 4 years. My optical sensor is no longer functioning.
I was caught off guard seeing that the 3155 is no longer for sale on some sites and has been replaced by the osmolator 3. I dont like that it doesn't come with the added float switch for a backup safety.
What's everyone using for ATO now? I've looked around and 2 of them caught my eye outside of the Osmolator 3. The red sea ATO and the Neptune ATK stand alone unit. Both of these units have features i like but I'm seeing a lot of reviews claiming early equipment failures. I like the wifi connectivity on the red sea ato and I really like the float valve on the Neptune unit to keep from accidently overfilling.
Photo of my reef because I hate posts without anything to look at lol
My system volume is over 250gallons and I burn through almost 5gallons of top off water every 24 hrs. Lots of surface area, my tank and grow out tub have a combined surface area of 29² ft. Usually, I run a 5 gallon bucket and fill it daily to prevent overflows, but recently I took a 5 day trip and used a 30 gallon tank i had sitting around. It was so convenient I think I may end up doing that permanently and just adding a float switch to disconnect the ato if my sump does start to overfilling.Ive been using a tunze nano 3152 on my old 60 gallon and now on a biocube, its honestly been flawless.
