Best way to cycle start a new tank? Just got a Biocube 32 going to be adding live rock and sand and filling with water using Fritz rpm salt, should I have any media in the filter during this process?

Do you need to? Probably not. With the live rock, your tank likely can handle a small bioload to start. But if you ever plan on putting media in there, it'll be time efficient and wise to get the media colonized so you can handle more load.

Most important part, have patience

Have you ever had a saltwater tank before? Do lots of reading and research, this is a complex hobby. In a salt tank, the live rock is the media (aka the biofilter) that will keep your fish alive. Therefore no need for other media under normal situation.

Sounds like a great start!
Give it a few days to settle and add first fish or two.

Then get testing parameters and work towards stabilizing these in the traditional bands.

Stability is absolute key, and helps the development of good guy algae, bacteria and micro-fauna.
