I just noticed white dots on my sailfin who'd only been transferred from QT to DT a couple of weeks ago
The dots are only present on the very tip of the anal fin and a few of them on the clear part of the caudal fin. I recalled you asked about "white spots on the clear portions of the fins".

Is it a strong signal that it's ich?
Any chance you can get a photo?
Also, can you clarify, the sailfin is in your DT, but the hepatus is in the QT?

That's right, they are from different batches.
I was mostly curious about the "clear fractions of the fins", is it a special sign of something?

Yes - there are a number of things that can produce white spots on fish - some mostly on fins, some mostly on the fish's body, and some, like ich, on both. It helps me try and diagnose the issue...

I uploaded a short video of the sailfin in DT

There are some small white dots on the clear side of the tail fin. It's day 3, nothing has changed yet.

Meanwhile the hippo tang in QT is having the next round of ich. I used 7ml of ICH-X per 15 gallons of water for 5 consecutive days. The directions recommend 5ml per 10g. Either the concentration is too low, or it just doesn't work.

Sorry, I can’t see anything in the video. If the spots are unchanged after 3 days, it is unlikely to be ich.
