Yes, thank you for this. I have come across this article and it was a great read. I wish I could find someone on here that has direct experience and longevity keeping seagrasses in the aquarium. I'm not even sure if the species I would want to keep are easily accessible. I have searched many of the main sites and have found some caribbean seagrasses and many macro algaes but haven't come across many Indo-pacific species.
I haven't seen any of those for sale either. There is not much on the Pacific grasses at all. I remember seeing one or two articles on tanks with the species you are looking for but they didn't provide any details so I didn't save them. I think the Caribbean plants might be more popular because that's one of the few things we are allowed to collect. Collectors in the Pacific aren't going to bother collecting seagrasses when all the demand is for corals.

I would think 95% of all Reefers have some sort of Tang. Usually a Yellow.

I would think they would destroy sea grasses eating them non stop
There isn't really anything definitive written on that. In the RC thread referenced here, he did try an Atlantic Blue Tang. It decimated his macros but there was no mention of any damage to the grasses.

In the wild juvenile tangs frequent the seagrass beds, but I believe they munch on the epiphytes growing on the grass more than the grasses themselves.

Only one way to find out for sure...lol

I noticed this as well and many times things are limited at certain times of the year. I did a quick search of another macro algae for a different concept tank "Sargasso Sea". I think I found one biological supply house that sells the floating sargassum. I guess it washes up in piles down there though.

Yeah that stuff is everywhere. I could drive over to the beach and collect some from the water right now. Lots of life in those big clumps of floating algae.

Just one more aspect I'll want to look into before committing. I've done some additional pacific seagrass looking and nothing so far. Please post any links if you all do run into any sites.
