What is the best way to clean the outside glass of the tank? Is there a best cleaning spray or does just a wet towel work good?

I just use paper towel with RODI water, and then I "buff" with a dry piece of paper towel. Some use a little vinegar in the water to help cut any mineral deposits.

Spots I just rub off with a towel. Heavy cleaning I use vinegar and water with a towel. Mostly I just dust mine off before I clean the inside. I only have one child that comes around and he knows not to touch the tanks and I'm not too messy when working in the tank.

Water /vinegar blend gets rid of tough spots and offers resistance to fingerprints. I use plain water with paper towel and glass id sparkling. Do not use windex,, at least with an open top

I use Fritz cleaner with a paper towel, it is nontoxic so no worries if some gets in the tank. Gives you a lovely streak-free shine, and also a slick finish that allows your mag-float cleaner, if you use one, to glide easily.

I've always used Windex right on the glass and then a squeegee to wipe it clean.

You will read a lot about not using Windex or to be very careful using Windex because it will result in some kind of catastrophe if the mist gets in the tank. Not true.

Of course, I am not saying it is okay to pour Windex in the tank. But accidentally getting the mist in the tank is harmless.

Nah, doing it for almost 20 years. Just spray on rag first, not like a dork and all overvthe glass, etc... common sense.

I told my wife no sprays of any kind in that area - she said: clean your own tank

I've been using Windex (original) for almost 50 years.

Obviously don't spray directly into tank.

Washcloth with Tap water then a shower squeegee

I use RODI on a paper towel, then squeegee with an Oxo shower squeegee. Works great! Sometimes, but not often, will take a clean towel to buff if needed,
