Hi there @rvitko I just had a quick questions regarding the Tunze Coral Gum

I’ve been using this product for a few years now and really like it. However this most recent batch i purchased a few months ago feels a bit off

When I mix / knead the two parts together, it seems as though it completely dries and sets within like 10 seconds, there’s almost no work time and I barely am able to get a frag glued down and sometimes need to try 2 or 3 times before im quick enough

Are you aware if there has been a change in formulation recently? Or perhaps i have received a bad batch?

Thank you!

I have not encountered this, this product is actually a commercial product, if you have ever had a dental impression made, it is the same product, just colored to be more like coralline and without the fruit flavoring they usually use in the dentists office. I know that basically it is made by the same German chemical company just omit the flavor and change the color. When it goes bad, it just stays a goopy mess. The only things that come to mind that would do this is mixing too much of one portion (one is the catalyst) or higher temperatures will speed up the reaction. In my experience you do usually have less than a minute actual working time, after that it gets crumbly and won't really work.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’ll try mixing a bit less of the gray part 2 and see if that helps
