This type of fish is subject to skin irritations. What level of cupramine were you using and how were you testing that level?
The tank after treatment- was this new seawater used and did you use RODI water to mix it or tap water from the faucet?

I dont think so cupramine dosage is 12 days i did at least 20
thirty days at .45 is recommended but premature time period will likely not have caused this as these are Not ich spots

Used rodi with just above 0.50 tested with hanna copper checker

.5 is the max and I recommend .45 and mentioning skin irritation, this may be a contributor. Do NOT go over with cupramine and its an ionic version of copper and more potent

I don't see ich on the fish - but it might have it, and it just isn't showing in the pictures. The black spots around the face are pores that could be developing into Head and Lateral Line Erosion, although all blue tangs have these, and they just get larger with HLLE.

Did you treat for flukes? Scratching is more often a symptom of those......

Cupramine should be dosed for at least 14 days, I prefer 21. The issue is this - Cupramine is an ionic copper and fish are more sensitive to it than for amine-chelated copper products. Trouble is, no copper products kill the resting tomonts of ich. That means that if you do a shorter run with Cupramine, there is more of a chance of some tomonts getting through than if you run coppersafe for 30 days.

How do i treat with flukes thanks
If flukes..... PraziPro.
With Prazi, to be safe , dose at 85% of recommended and apply initial dosage known as an interval for 8 days, do a water change and do one more 8 day dose interval
Use airstone with prazi as it does reduce both oxygen and appetite. If running a skimmer, leave cup off first 24 hrs as skimmer will go nuts from the glycol solution in Prazi
