I have mine under 4x65w of bulbs 2 x daylights and the other 2 are half purple half blue actinic. At the bottom of a 55.

Mixed meats, coral frenzy, and planktons are what I feed.

Too much light and they hate you lol.

Here's a shot of mine closed up a bit. You can see all the small heads and new ones forming. Started as a single head about a year ago.

This is it when I got it. Not sure about encrusting, but the ceramic plug is still there.

Haha... Sorry. I have no idea. Someone gave them to me and its been over a year. I probably still have them but can remember what they are called. They are from Hawaii. Sticky Punch? I don't really keep up with the names. Sorry.

There sure are some great looking Duncan corals on this thread ... and as was pointed out IME too they are one of the easiest to keep, and grow new heads real quickly, and are easy to frag too .. great coral that has interesting behaviors IMO based on water flow and on lighting it gets and even on times of the day ..

Lol yes, I figured it was a palythoa. They really need to quit naming corals after foods. They look like candy.

Most people will use a dremel to cut branches off. I used some heavy duty scissors the first 2 times successfully by cutting it under water so it did no fly off like my toenails. Third time comes around and the piece i cut wheat flying over 2 aquariums into a pile of dog hair collected behind and underneathe 125 gallons of water. It is still alive though. It only has one tentacle and a mouth. Slowly I will be a full polyp again.

Does anyone have Duncan launching experiences(

I love that they host clowns on some of your guys pics. I have two young clowns I am going to print out a pic if yours for to try to teach them. It works with anemone. Lol. Hopefully my 90s printer still works haha.

I can't wait until mine gets big. I bought it as one polyp and now has 5 decent sized babies growing around it. I have to frag my frogspawn so there will be room on the sand bed of my 10 gal for it.

The best way to frag a Duncan is with a dremel or tile cutter, or so I have heard. I have also heard using bone cutters are a good tool for this type of structure.

I have only used my industrial strength cooking shears that cut pennies and leather. Only because I have not bought either of the previously mentioned tools.

Regardless of tools. That is preference.

What I do is find the longest branch I can and cut it at a 45 degree angle. I have noticed they will regrow a larger head on a slant than a flat. More surface area I suppose. Plus the 45 degree angle allows you to glue it to the sides of Rock so it points up like in nature. If u glue it to a frag plug than the chance of growing more heads faster is greater. They will pop out of the side of the branch.

I compared it to trimming a large dogs toenails. Quick and clean. Don't cut the flesh. I you cut it rather than saw or dremel it than do it submerged so it does not go flying like mine into your dogs hidden pile of hair your vacuum could not reach
