I love collecting fossilized sea creatures and was wondering who else has this passion. Especially since I live on an ancient shallow sea ( central Texas.) I hunt mostly, but buy a few here and there. I'll start with with a piece that I found in the Ozark mountains in Arkansas. This was limestone matrix with some silicate fossils. I believe it to be coral, but it might be something else. I find quite of few infilled burrows ( rudists) around me. Let me know what y'all collect, and do you add any to your aquariums?

I fell down a YouTube rabbit hole a few years ago of watching people fossil hunting on the beach. I won't lie it made me want to take a hammer and chisel out to the beach and start looking for rocks lol. I might just do it next time we take the the kids. I've also considered buying a metal detector after watching those videos my wife said no to the purchase but I already have a hammer lol.

People make me jealous of what they find on the beach. Especially arrowheads. I have found some chert flakes in the Bay, but I am 4.5 hours from the beach, so I have spent limited hours combing.

I have found a few arrowheads in the riverbed by my parents house when I was a kid. I was obsessed with finding gold ( never found any lol) after a 4th grade field trip to Sutter's mill and paining for gold. My parents bought me a gold pan and I would spend hours out there after school and weekends trying to hit the motherlode! Never any gold but I did find some arrowheads most were broken but I did find one intact. I haven't seen them in years I need to ask my mom if she knows where they are.

Those are awesome. I'd have them on display somewhere in the house. Maybe on a shelf over the tank.

Maybe throw the broken ones into a calcium reactor and build a reef tank with ancient reef!
