Hello all. I am looking to purchase a IM 50 to replace my Rea Sea Max S500. It will go in the same location as the RSMAXS500. My question is and I have seen 1 thread so far are about levelling casters. I want to build the IM50 1st then use levelling casters attached to the bottom of the APS Stand to move it when the time come. The new IM50 build will take me about an month to complete. I am doing things slow and right this time instead of just throwing parts together from random used parts off FB Market and Forums.

I estimated the IM 50 with rock and sand would be north of 600 pounds. Would 1 leveling caster per side ( 4 total) be enough , or would something like a butcher block for the APS to sit on followed by 4 levelling casters be a better solution. My main goal is to be able to easily move the new IM from 1 room to final destination , level with casters , and in the future when the wife wants to rearrange for some reason to be able to drain the system , move , set back up with ease.

I used 4 casters on my RSR 170 and plan on using 4 for my new build (90 gallon). I modified the stock RSR cabinet and it's been great for 5 years. Just have to make sure the stand is beefed up a bit as stock design isn't rigid enough.

I don't move it often at all but when you need to having them is wonderful and worth every penny.

I went with a safety factor of 150% to 200% in rating to weight ratio.

Way more detail that anyone needs in my build thread but here's a picture.

So I am torn between Red Sea E170 system or IM 40L AIO. I have been reading for weeks on both but i can not for the life of me pull the trigger on which system to buy. I currently am running a Red Sea Max S500 , it has been amazing but i am wanting to go AIO this time around and away from sump systems.
