We have steps in the right direction!!! So much better! I pulled one half of the two 90’s ,on the secondary, off to raise the level. This helped. Then I had the idea to silence the waterfall. The majority of noise is from the overflowing water through the weir. I went to scrounge through my fish box of random stuff to see what I could come up with. I found a sheet of cross stitch fabric that I had used to DIY an algae scrubber in my AIO. Perfect length and width. Disclaimer, do not remove the weir of the synergy while the pumps are running. I did have some overflow onto the floor before I could shut the pumps down.
Anyway, I cut sections of the cross stitch mesh and rolled them up and placed in each of the 4 sections of the inside front overflow box. Whatya know! Not silence, but vastly better than before. I can actually hear the surface breaking from my returns!
Still some dialing in but we are getting there! This overflow design is stupid!! But my wife is much happier!!

I am so confused by this overflow today. I have noticed lately that either my overflow is either pulling in air or not draining enough and the tank level is getting high.
So I decided to close up the hole on top of the synergy u tube. When I did this it’s like the syphon went into super mode. Was draining incredibly fast. I have the gate valve on the main drain closed completely minus a 1/4 turn. Even with it closed this much I have had to turn up my main pump exponentially.
I have tried all sorts of things today. I took the u tube and reopened the hole and put it on the secondary line and left the main line open.
Up until this point the gate on the main had been about half closed. I’m so confused now. Considering I have the gate all but closed and it feels like it’s draining faster than ever. No leaks or anything anywhere.
Any ideas?!

Sounds like your main drain is not adjusted properly.
So the "u" pipe with a hole should be on the secondary. The gate valve should also be near the sump on the main drain.
Open the main drain all the way and close it slowly until a slight trickle comes out the secondary.
You really shouldn't ever have to adjust this again.

That’s the way it is configured now. U pipe on the secondary. I started with my primary gate valve opened all the way. In order for it to stop sucking air the valve is now almost closed. That’s the part that doesn’t make sense to me. That it’s still draining so quickly even with the gate valve essentially closed.
