I’ve been having some trouble with my tank having green water. My reading seem to be normal, I only feed once a day, I’ve tried moving my tank somewhere with less sun light & ive reduced my lighting. Still seems to be green. I do a 5gal water change every week (my tanks 20gal). This is what it looks like after my water changes. Will a UV sterilizer help?

I had a similar far worse problem last summer (see attached photo) I got a AquaUV Ultraviolet sterilizer and it cleared up in 3 days. Prior to getting it i tried everything from black out periods to large water changes the only thing that fixed it was the UV sterilizer

If its goes green you have an algae bloom if it goes white (cloudy) then you have a bacteria bloomon your hands, ithier way invest in a suitable UV sterilizer will clear it right up, good luck!

Yes UV will clear that up. It looks like you’re running an hob filter too. Not sure on the size, but I bought this cheap little UV light on Amazon about a year and a half ago and toss it in my HOB every now and then. I’d move it between my fresh and salt tank (after a wash down) and it would clear out algae in the water in about 12 - 24 hrs. If you only need it to clear blooms like that, this thing will do the trick.
