Not in a nano for me. I did the back wall GPS for a number of years. It was lovely, but it got away from me, and made it to the sides, flow heads, overflow gates. It just doesn't peel off like some suggest. I personally don't want that long term commitment.

Could not get GSP to grow in my tank. Lots of other stuff would grow, but GSP and other softies were gone within a week of being in my tank. Then one day I removed a rock from my tank and a large worm dove out into my change water bucket. Nearly jumped out of my skin -- looked like something out of Stargate SG-1. At least mystery solved at that point.

I like how GSP shows all the shapes of coral growth in a single colony.

- Encrusting

- Plating

- Branching

I don't like how, when it runs out of places to grow, it just grows on itself.

Easy to control it on an island, unlike Xenia or Kenyas that drop branches.

I personally prefer Branching GSP, which is the exact same pop of color but in a more controllable form. Also grows into interesting structures that the fish like to uses a hiding spots.

I like how it looks, not how it spreads.

I had it on an island and as the island grew, I didn’t keep it trimmed and it grew into places I didn’t want it.

I’m in process of eradicating it - tossed the island a few weeks ago. I’ve found that GSP doesn’t like F-Aiptasia and I’m using that in other spots.

I had a softball sized rock covered with GSP and it looked great for months. It withered away and died for no apparent reason. I've tried twice since then with the same result, yet euphyllia, duncans, mushrooms, zoas, etc. all do very well in my tank.
The same happened to me. It grew like weed for many months, then it slowly disappeared. All other corals did fine. Also, I bought what was called “ Green hairy mushroom coral”. It is equally brightly green and can be controlled, as it grows in individual specimens about two inches wide.
