So yesterday morning, I left the lid of my salt tub open with only about 2 l of water left. Well now, the salt tub is completely dry, but the heater was still running. It was covered in salt. So will anything happen to this heater now? I’ve unplugged it as soon as I found out, but I’m not sure if it’ll be ok. I’ve attached a video below, which was actually quite satisfying to watch.

Toss it out, this happened to me once (cats pulled the heater out and it melted a spot on the carpet), same brand... it looked fine but it did end up suddenly cracking (figured it was a salt mix heater so why not use it?)... I got a good zap.

I have no doubt the glass got compromised by the heat and caused it to suddenly crack. Sort of like glassware in the dishwasher sometimes.

Hopefull would pop a breaker, then you would have glass shards in your barrel to clean up. And i would toss that batch of water. Not terrible, but not fun
