Hello,

so i have a newer tank (2 months old). I came back home today and noticed only 1 of my fish behaving like this. he isn't eating and just stays under that rock breathing heavy. No signs of scraping on rock or any visual changes from what I can tell outside of behavior. (1 note, my house was extra cold today and my temp went from 78 to 76 but i got it back to 78 as soon as I noticed). These fish are from dr reef (QT'd) and I dipped my coral from my local LFS. Any thoughts on what is going on? Is it still to early to tell and I need to sit back?

The temp drop to 76 should not have impacted this fish as it did not the others as its in safe low range (77-79). I suspect from the unusual swim pattern and heavy breathing early stage brook or gill issue. Another would be low oxygen but again other fish are what looks normal.
You can d a water change and add air stone but in the event of brook onset, you can safely add Ruby Rally pro which is reef safe and a wide remedy.

thank you I will grab some tomorrow in case this gets worse. In a odd turn my lights have cycled off and now he/she (IDK) is swimming around again like nothing is wrong. Very odd... hopefully its nothing. kinda bummed out that despite taking every precaution and the fish being there for only a few weeks I already possibly ran into a hiccup. I guess that's the hobby.

If this occurs again at lights on tomorrow, reduce lights and see if it again stops which may point to intimidation.
