HELP with Anemone dont know if she is dying or what…

I bought this anemone about 40 days ago… when she first came she appeared HUGE and very open… i placed her in an area of medium light…

2-4 days later she mived from one location to another in a shadowy place and stayed there but here tentacles were smaller (still chuby but shorter)…

8-10 days later a clam came in that whole and she dislodged from the rock and since then it has been an endless tumble in all of the aquarium…. She is NOT sticking to any rock..

afraid of here getting into a powerhead i had to put her in a glass cup while i get some answers…

she DOESNT eat the small shrimp i give her… tried target feeding live mycis shrimp but didnt really react…

i also broadcast feer zooplantkon and phytoplankton to the whole tank.

parameters are:

what can i do? I am afraid she is dying…..

the last pic is how she was on the first 3-4 days BEAUTIFULLY OPEN in the tank… never again have i seen her like that….

How mature is the tank? I don’t see many white spiral things on the rocks.
Could just be a stability thing.

my nems have gotten stung and looked like death for over a month, but eventually recovered.

mine never lost their footing. They always stayed on my rocks. Just keep it safe and when or if it can it will move.

If you have a local reef club, friend, or the LFS you may try and see if it perks up in a different tank. My experience has always been to just leave them alone and sometimes they come through.

Yes… tank is VERY inmature…. Only 3 months…

my 2 cents advice if you have money to throw at the issue.

Buy a ton of copepods. Buy a ton of snails, limpets, stars, etc form somewhere like salty underground and seed your tank well.

also I am a big believer in the KZ line of products. I use and swear by them. I use 7 that BRS recommended and have seen results.

also maybe turn off your skimmer and back off filtering till you get some algae going. Softies like dirty tanks is what is said.

I added BTA to my tank before 90 days, but I added the others along with a ton of bacteria first few days.

Just a heads up you have placed it in a glass cup which acts like a nem cup make sure it has flow going to it . Just a thought . If you have any small amount of rock rubble in the bottom and she might get her foot down. Your tank is young but if you’re water all reads good and stays stable you might be fine. A lot of nems deflate when lights out and open right out when whites are on is she doing that ?

Poor footing is not a good sign at all. Tank maturity, by that I mean biome stability, has not been achieved yet which is something Nems absolutely need.
I would remove from the tank and recommend building a proper bacterial base to your system that could sustain inverts like nems when introduced

Get a pvc coupler and dig it down into the sand until it hits the bottom glass. Clear out all the sand in the middle so there is bare glass. Place the LTA in and wait for attachment. Slowly lift the coupler out and let the sand bury the foot.

Is she still alive?
The PVC Coupler i assume is lifter off towards the top like a "shirt" after she attaches to the bottom glass of the tank?
How do I know she has attached before its OK to remove the PVC coupler?

I don't know what you mean by "under these conditions". If you mean your rather new tank, then perhaps never. Under optimal conditions, very quickly, within an hour.

@Cell ok so.. i did the PVC/Direct to bare bottom glass approach.. she never stuck… she is now inside the PVC tube upside down with her “butt” towards the top and the tentacles toward the glass botom…

she is not sticking anywere… shes got me very woried… how do i know if she dies?

i also say like an ulcer or something coming out of the red foot (on the side) and took a picture… she looks really bad.. she was HUGE when she first came in to the tank…

If it's start turning to mush or disintegrating, remove it. Otherwise, just leave it be for awhile. Aside from rehoming to a mature, stable tank, there isn't much more you can do at this point.

What size is this tank and what lighting?

Tank is a 200 gal (175 actual water volume) and has 3 radeon XR15 Pro LED lights. Its currently on its 7th week out of 11 week fallow period due to ich outbreak.

How are you testing the water? While not impossible, the zero readings with a newer tank is suspicious.
If it was moving when first introduced, there is/was too much light and /or water flow.
The constant handling, feeding attempts and chemistry are all stressors and a reason for behavior.
I believe you are moving quickly to stock and are outing this system at risk of some type of failure.
You need to look at and verify your readings for Nitrate-phosphate- salinity. What also is tank temparture?

If the numbers are true/accurate
If false readings, will be an issue
