I’m thinking of ordering some additional lyretail anthias for my 240. Curious as to how long it takes for uronema symptoms to show up. Reef beauties has a 15 day guarantee on their fish. I would assume that it would take longer than 15 days.

Uronema is obligate and opportunistic and can spread quickly through open wounds or damaged tissue and can start without notice and in a couple days leave a rash look eating tissue. Thirty to 40 days completely wrong and is preventative with good water quality, and maintaining proper salt levels. Giving fish a ruby rally bath for 60 minutes often helps with protection

Most cases on inter-cellular Uronema show up within 30 to 40 days upon the acquisition of the fish. There is NO treatment that works for that issue once the lesion has broken through the skin of the fish.

I have been reefing for about 15 years and have always wondered what the right definition of good water quality was. Haha

Using a quality test kit, assuring ammonia levels are Not elevated and lack of suspended waste and sediment essential to the health a of fish, coral, and inverts maintaining essentials such as salinity, phos and safe nitrate levels

I appreciate it! I have all of those boxes checked. Was just curious of the definition. Haha
