How long to wait after flukes

Hello, I had what I thought was a fluke outbreak in my tank a little over a month ago. was never able to confirm for sure. I treated with prazi. I though I was going to lose all my fish but 2 damsels survived and have been doing great the past few weeks. Is there any signs I should look for that there may still be something in the tank? I want to get another pair of clowns but I just want to make sure they will be ok.

Signs would be heavy breathing, low appetite, scratching against objects and sudden darting across tank.
As for time period, if you did at least two doses lasting 8 days and water change in between and no symptoms- you are good to go

awesome, yeah they had all the symptoms when it happened but have been totally normal since the treatment.

Livebearing flukes will die out in a few days without a fish host. Egg laying flukes take longer - reports are done fluke eggs can still hatch out 12 days without a fish host. I wait 21 days to be safe….

i dosed about 28-30 days ago, the last fish to pass away was about 22 days ago. the two damsels that survived perked up to their normal state probably 15ish days ago. do you think i should wait a bit more?

Wait - are the damsels in the DT? If do, then it isn’t truly fallow, they could be harboring a sub acute infection. If they aren’t in the DT, then you are ok

My concern is that you killed off the adult flukes with the prazi, but any eggs would remain unaffected. then, the eggs can hatch out and infect the damsels, but they will be asymptomatic for awhile, lulling you into a false sense of security. The absolute best way to handle this would be to leave the tank completely fallow.

I know unfortunately its kinda a sticky situation. I dont really have a way to go fallow at the moment.
