Chemipure blue does not contain any po4 remover, you need a different product, I would choose rowaphos over chemipure, but if you want to stick with chemipure, its the elite you need not the blue. It’s been level around 0.25 for the past couple months, I’m running chemipure blue, but that doesn’t seem to help, and api, so really prolly false lolll
Whichever one you can read the colors on and reads between at least 0.00 and 0.1ppm.Besides Hannah, wats a good one?
You may be trying to fight something you dont have, your po4 test reading was extremely high and whilst api po4 test is not great, your tank looks to have high nutrients, still could be dinos with high nutrients but probably less likely.dinos
what should I use for phosphates? You may be trying to fight something you dont have, your po4 test reading was extremely high and whilst api po4 test is not great, your tank looks to have high nutrients, still could be dinos with high nutrients but probably less likely.
I would first confirm it is dinos, loads of pictures of the tank in white light would help see if that is actually what the issue is.
Imo using snow to help clean the tank is going to have very marginal effects, it’s something you can do after every thing else, just to get that last bit of improvement, vacuuming the sand and scraping the glass, water changes etc will help more. And do you even have a skimmer? As I believe a skimmer is necessary when using snow.
For starters an actual good test.what should I use for phosphates?
Buy a hanna 774 checker so you know actually what your po4 lvl is, then some kind of po4 remover, rowaphos is probably the easiest, a tablespoon in a small micron media bag should start getting your po4 down but there are many methods and products, rowa is a good place to start.what should I use for phosphates?
I removed a big top Layer of sand, ik I shouldn't have done it, but there was poop and algae everywhere. have around 5-7 astreas, 5 Nass's, 4 blue legged hermits, 1 clown(dyk that clowns actually eat algae?) and 1 Mex turboSince this is a 10 gallon, you could clean the sand syphoning it. Don't have to remove. Add hermits since I didn't see clean up crew and few nassarius snails. This will help with algae and keep sand turned. You will also being doing large water change. You can do this once a week.
Also, some coral do not like the same parameters as others. The fact your sps is doing well is good. It is hard to make all corals happy at times. Some are able to.
No worries, removing sand doesn't hurt. Clowns don't really eat algae. I would bump up blue legs to a total of 8 to 10. They will kill the nassarius for shells so be prepared to replace lol. Mexicans eat and poop a lot. You could also add some macro algae. So won't worry about poop as much.I removed a big top Layer of sand, ik I shouldn't have done it, but there was poop and algae everywhere. have around 5-7 astreas, 5 Nass's, 4 blue legged hermits, 1 clown(dyk that clowns actually eat algae?) and 1 Mex turbo
