Friends, I need some advice!
Best camera for underwater use? What have all you snorkeling/ diving people used underwater for all your photos and videos? Bring on the recommendations, please.

Definitely @Stang67 . I just have a GoPro (Hero 4 I think). Not recommending. Every video I do is like a Blair Witch Project blooper. Wide angle lens is great in some cases but others not so much. I considered a waterproof case for the phone but ran out of time (perhaps also $$) before the last trip.

I unsuccessfully used my phone the two times I snorkeled but I figured out what I did wrong.

cell phone with dive case. more details, please, on when and where you will be using it? i dont care for the go pro set up but in a pinch it would "work".

I assumed they did it already. Not sure what social media they are talking about though. I check their FB and YT yesterday.

Looks like I'm getting an Orphek Atlantik V4 with Icon upgrade next week ($300)! That should just about do it for light on the 83. From a local that's been to my office before, so I'm optimistic that it will turn out OK.

Yeah, I was just last night looking at the Orphek, ReefBreeders and Quanta pages thinking "am I just going to have to bite the bullet?" and then the post on my local forum showed up about exactly (almost) the light I was thinking would be best. It isn't the most recent Icon, but it's been upgraded using Orphek's upgrade kit, so that at least is a good thing. The previous version should be able to belt out the PAR just as well in any case.

No, I lost confidence in my LFS. It doesn't exist anymore, anyway. I was getting saltwater from them, but they sold me a batch at 1.038sg, and being naive, I didn't check the salinity, just assumed it'd be dead on. Water change killed a bunch of stuff in my nano.

Dang. I don't blame you. I was just curious because another member commented on my test results from my spin test and in the small sample size ( 2 tests) the spin tests seem to be about 20-25 points off from hanna checker results for alk with the specific spin test brand. I have noticed this on all of my previous tests too.
