1/3 of the rock is from TBS. The other two rock islands are old, old Marshall Islands and Fiji rocks from the 70s that were dried out in a garage for 5 years and have been "rejuvenated" with the TBS rocks and dosing AquaForest Life Source (Fijian mud). No artificial rock unless you count the TBS rock before culturing in the gulf.

How much die off did you get from the TBS rock? The additional organics could spike alk levels.

No die off, and any die off would have happened years ago. This is the 40gal tank that's ailing, not the new 83. Haven't finished filling that one yet. The Fiji/Marshall island rocks were cooked/cured with the TBS rocks back in 2023, I think.

My suspicion is that my ALK consumption has basically stopped. I'm seeing a lot of corals dying and no longer growing, so I think the drop in consumption is causing the spikes in parameters... Tank has been neglected while I've been working on the new tank, so I need to give it some TLC. Water change today.

You'll have to sit in on Syphilis and a Cryptosporidium (diarrhea) meetings, but I'm sure you'll blend in! Then you can figure out why my tank's ALK has hit >15dkh.
