65g 8 month tank upgraded to 130g tank.

Used same live rock, added a few extra new dry rock. Used same sand, added 80lb of sand on top with old sand as a thin layer underneath. Added Dr Tim’s one n only and let it run for 12 hrs.

Transferred fish this morning. Everyone looked fine swam around all day cool. Everyone ate a little bit for lunch but not devour the food as they usually would.

Dinner came, they barely ate.. all 10 of them barely ate.. I have half of them now surfing the glass a lot. Could I be having a mini cycle?? I threw prime and bacteria in and hope that helps. Does anyone have any insight? Ammonia read 0-0.2 (estimate off color from Red Sea test). Nitrite read 0

Using the same sand is most like the problem unless you washed it.

Prime isn’t really helpful as they claim it seems.

I would be doing water changes.

Ammonia alert badge is helpful too.

I’m not getting any readings for nitrite and ammonia though? I did read that using old sand was bad but it’s such new sand (often vacuumed) so I figured it’d be ok. The old sand probably covered the tank 2-3mm. The new sand is easily over an inch on top of old sand. My nitrates are 2.7. Trying to raise that now

it might just be that they’re just adjusting to the new environment and just need some time.
Im hoping so!! I’d be devastated if I lose any. The weird thing is they were fine all day but once night settled in they started acting a little weird. Rockscape is completely different too. Maybe they are stressed because they don’t know where to sleep? Lol

Best case scenario. But when it's something affecting all the fish, I pull out all the stops. Water change, carbon, UV, air stone, beneficial bacteria, etc. Fingers crossed for your fish!

Possible it was processed already and was missed.

I move a lot and while some fish become recluse for a bit, I have never had them all do it. Not impossible but usually there is a few piggies who literally try to catch pods that I stir up while I am chasing them lol

Hopefully whatever it was is passed and they return to normal in the morning.

Yes! Hoping they survive the night and are ok again in the morning.

It’s 1am and unfortunately I don’t have any air stone but I have a skimmer and a lot of surface agitation. I just replaced my carbon with new media, added beneficial bacteria and have my UV running. Fingers crossed
