Sorry for being a bit absent. This week has been hard.

Grandson was diagnosed with walking pneumonia. Poor little guy has felt rough for several days. We had to get creative with giving him his meds, he absolutely refused to take it outright even though he’s normally really good about it. The drs said force it and we ended up wearing a Z pac lol.

Atlas was laid to rest Wednesday. I absolutely hate doing that and I know how necessary it is. But man does it suck. In the process I decided I’m going to send Big Mama back home to her breeder. Robles is, I don’t have bags and I’m not sure when I’ll have time to ship this week. I need to do so Monday or Tuesday so she’s not stuck in transit. I’m absolutely terrified of shipping. I always am. I’ll try and head out today to see if the local reef shop has some bags large enough for her.

Mother in laws chemo is taking quite a toll on her. She’s sleeping almost constantly. I believe she has one maybe two more weeks left of this treatment before the surgery to remove the cancer so those who pray, please do so for her. She’s a lovely woman with a super big heart. We cherish her dearly.

all in all I’m glad this week is behind me. I’m hoping this next one is better. I think once Big Mama is on her way home, and I can rehome Goosy and Cedar, I’ll have a little less stress.

Also once she’s gone I’ll have the 20 long clear and I’ll probably move the pallifina over to that. Or at least it’ll be there. I need to start actually locating supplies for the 70 to salt it up.

Speaking of, the 35 finally has all the equipment it needs now. I think. The skimmer I believe was my last necessity. For some reason the toadstool has been pretty angry. I will test today and I do need to do a waterchange on there anyhow. The nem has decided to move(both of them) into the one barnacle that Sideshow Bob sleeps in lol. So now he has to squeeze into there with the nems to go to bed. It’s super adorable though to see his little nose poke out with some tentacles.

pics of the adorableness because, awe.

If I can talk the kiddo into taking me to the post office, Big Mama will be in her way home. Then I can move the pallifina to the 20 long. I’ll drain and refill the 70 with clean water today(RODI) and just let it run til I can work on supplies for the restart.

Wow I thought I’ve updated sooner than now. Oops.

So anyhow Big mama left, she made it safely home. In the mean time, I have moved the pallifina to the 20 and am draining the 70 once more to prepare for some salty stuff. However, I have bronchitis “with maybe some pneumonia” yet again. Sigh. I feel icky. :(

Oh and the dinos are back in the little tank. I figured they would come back which was why the move there. I’d rather deal with it on the smaller side as opposed to the big one. My only issue is getting the UV on there. I have no room for the pump….

I’ll grab some pods soon as I feel like going to the shop. Pics of the tank and of my nurse who’s working so very hard.

On the topic of aquascaping (for the contest entry as well as I need some tips.)

The tanks footprint as we probably all know, is 24X24. Of course the center overflow takes up some space. So with the height of the tank being 21”, what’s a good size scape?

I like wrapping around but keeping swim space. For me, I'd probably do about 10"-12" in the back and 6"-7" on the sides or I'd do a 16"*12" triangleish in the middle of the tank or a nice island maybe 10" around by 14" tall in the middle, a pillar in the back corner on one side, and a wall on the other side with a few shelves connecting the three pieces.

The wall idea is exciting! Sounds I love an island(kinda what I had) but the pillar and shelf seems like they would be great for things.

Today I went ahead and drained it, cleaned the plants out and wiped it down as well as I could. And then added some RODI and seran wrap to protect the silicone.
