Looking at your sump, The water level looks like it will be too high for both a skimmer and whatever drains down if/when you shut your pumps off. Seems to me about 2 gallons of free space... :grimacing-face:
but how much free space would i need or how do i fix what ive already made

You would have to install your overflow, Can use just a 5G bucket, run the pump you would want to use. Mark the level on your tank, measure down 1/8 inch from the bottom of your weir. Calculate that volume and that is how much extra volume you need in your sump. I would add 20% for variables to be sure.
Also for your reactor ? Julian Sprung/Two little fishes. Write or call him.

So. I got it all together and running. Not sure how well it’ll go if the power actually goes out LOL, but the overflow is positioned to have minimal display water drain into the sump incase of a power outage.

I’m about done and Imma buy a generator power bar that constantly keeps a charge with the outlet and then triggers on when there’s an outage because the anxiety from this plumbing and it’s all new to me LOL.

I was also curious about ATO because I literally have to top off in the sump to keep the return pump chamber at the sharpie line every day. It’s only about 500mLs of water but I don’t know if that’s a lot or a normal amount?! No leaks anywhere.

I know somewhere someone mentioned the large chamber- I did go off a diagram but also I plan on placing some live rock and chaeto algae in the mid section with the sand. And if I can catch my ********* clarky clown that’s gunna be his jail cell until I can rehome him.
