Hey everyone, I’ve had this pistol shrimp and YWG for going on 3 months. A couple weeks ago I stopped seeing my pistol shrimp all together and their burrow slowly withered away until my goby eventually moved to a little cave under a rock else where. I have since covered up their old home but even after the goby moved I still haven’t seen any new holes or anything from the shrimp.
Should I assume he passed away or do you think maybe he’s molting and hasn’t come out?

Thanks for the help!

I currently have 1 flame angel, 1 blue hippo tang, 1 golden Midas blenny, 2 clown fish and my YWG.
Hey! Clownfish can be mean sometimes. I don't think the tang would do any harm, but they clownfish may have killed off your shrimp population!

I have a 1 skunk cleaner, 1 coral banded shrimp, and one peppermint shrimp but they don’t seem to mess with them, they usually just stay in the corner the decided was their home. But I just noticed my YWG is just swimming up and down in the tank in the back corner and just completely ignored the food I put in, should I be worried?

So I think it could be because the Pistol Shrimp is gone... You know about the relationship between the two... It could be upset and worried about it's friends. If anything happens, let me know.
Is there any labored breathing, or is it normal? If labored, then something is up.

OK, since its breathing normal I think it's due to the missing of the Pistol Shrimp. It is worried. If none show up in about 2 weeks, I'd try and get another pistol shrimp. Fish have feelings, and deaths impact them.

Update: my new tiger pistol and goby paired up within 10 minutes of adding it in. They already established a 5 bed 3 bath house with 3 exterior doors haha, they’re looking good. Thanks again for the help!
