I have a 4yr old tank with a mix of corals. Most of the corals are doing "ok" but my red montipora cap is brown. The edges are white = growning, but the coral is brown. The neon green montipora is bright green and also growing. Suggestions on how to get the red color to return? PAR? Trace?

Thank you

What is the par, or type of light? I've grown corals under a plant grow light before, they do grow, but they turn brown. So I'm thinking it might be related to the light, but I'm just guessing, really need more info on your tank.

Is the green one shading the orange one? Mine turn brown if they are not getting enough light.
I call them orange because I've never seen one that looked red to me. Mine does look closer to red under my k7 III pros than it does under photons. The brown on this one is from shading before I broke the piece above off.

This is two top down photos. The first one shows a big brown montipora that has nothing above it.
The second one, the green is probably blocking some light.

I recently had an issue with my red Montis (2 in 1 tank) - was also growing but something was definitely eating it/killing it. Settled on monti eating nudibranch as the issue - and it was confirmed. Now going to take out the montis and let the tank go without for a few months and hopefully they die off and i can start again (i have a thriving red monti in another tank)
