Brother, I go skiing, and that is NOT a cheap sport ;-)Thanks so much for the encouragementmy agreement with my parents was that they would fund and support whatever I wanted aslong as I keep my room clean 24/7, I do all my assignments, and do 3 daily chores. My room is currently clean as ever, I never skip any classes, my grades are 80-90s, and I do my chores as soon as I get home! The only problem is I need them to know what I know about tanks aswell so they understand what I need, but they just don’t care to know. They probably think that I’ll just “put it on them”. I’ll have a talk with them tomorrow, they are aware that my fish passed and they seemed somewhat concerned.
I feel like I can be a bit much sometimes with my passions / hobbies.. I went skiing this weekend, I play ringette, I have a dirtbike, and race bike, 2 dogs, 2 cats and a 10 gal betta tank with some little critters in there so I do get where they are coming from.
You seem like a really good kid, and I hope you're able to at least explore some of your interests here.
It may be that you're stretching things a little far for your parents, who are probably focused on your upcoming education, which is not cheap. You may have a passion and aptitude for science, but they may not know that yet.
You may not think so now, but your parents very likely want what they think is the best for you, and so do I
